CHEAP FESTIVAL 2025:
TRUST UTOPIA
Selected artist by CHEAP // Call For Artist 2025
We live in a time where beauty seems overshadowed.
In the images presented, a black, dense, opaque circle appears: the eclipse.
It’s not a void, not an absence. It’s a passage.
An eclipse is a rare and universal event, one that makes us look up. During a solar eclipse, humans pause, observe, wait.
There is something both magical and unsettling in that sudden darkness — in that passage through the dark.
And it’s in that waiting that a primal form of trust is born: we know the light will return.
Trust Utopia, for me, is this:
believing that what keeps us from seeing beauty today — hatred, capitalism, frenzy, noise, indifference — is just a temporary veil. Like an eclipse.
A necessary moment to remind us of the value of light.
My utopia is that we will see again. Truly see.
Beauty, peace, nature, people.
The black circle in these posters does not erase — it suspends.
It is both invitation and challenge to the viewer:
Can you trust that behind the darkness, beauty is still there?
